CMB-CAL 2024 Workshop Code of Conduct

Overview

The CMB-CAL 2024 Workshop, hosted by the University of Milano-Bicocca, is committed to providing a safe, productive, and welcoming environment for all participants. This Code of Conduct outlines our expectations for behavior to ensure a respectful and collaborative atmosphere.

Expected Behavior

  1. Respect and Inclusion: Treat all participants with respect and consideration, valuing diverse perspectives and experiences.
  2. Professionalism: Maintain professional conduct in all interactions, both in person and online.
  3. Collaboration: Promote a collaborative environment by being open to ideas and feedback from others.
  4. Communication: Communicate openly, thoughtfully, and with consideration for the presence and views of others. Use appropriate language and avoid discriminatory or offensive remarks.
  5. Privacy: Respect the privacy and confidentiality of other participants.

Unacceptable Behavior

  1. Harassment and Discrimination: Any form of harassment, discrimination, or offensive behavior, including but not limited to verbal comments related to gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, race, religion, or any other personal characteristic.
  2. Intimidation and Threats: Intimidating, harassing, abusive, discriminatory, derogatory, or demeaning conduct.
  3. Disruption: Sustained disruption of talks or other events, including inappropriate use of the workshop’s communication channels.
  4. Unwanted Physical Contact: Any unwelcome physical contact or unwarranted physical attention.

Reporting Incidents

If you experience or witness any behavior that violates this Code of Conduct, please report it immediately to the workshop organizers. Reports can be made anonymously or personally. Contact details for reporting will be provided at the workshop venue and on the official website.

Consequences

Participants who are asked to stop any inappropriate behavior are expected to comply immediately. If a participant engages in behavior that violates this Code of Conduct, the workshop organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, including warning the offender, expulsion from the workshop, and, if necessary, contacting local law enforcement.
